Nearly two decades into a successful career built on the concept of musical metamorphosis, Slightly Stoopid has progressed from talented teenagers—equally influenced by the DIY ethos of punk rock and Southern California’s burgeoning mid-90s reggae scene—into rhythmic and melodic masters of multiple genres. Their journey has taken them around the globe and
created an entire subculture in the process, while the band itself has evolved into a cutting edge, seven-piece collective. Slightly Stoopid has concocted a kaleidoscope of sound that explores a wide spectrum of grooves—from psychedelic rock, classic reggae and dub, to acoustic blues, funky soul, modern hip-hop and frenetic punk, among many other styles.
